社会学部では、「社会」や「社会」と人間の関わりについて研究している。社会学は、社会的不平等、 宗教、人種・民族など、さまざまな分野で通用する学問だ。研究範囲は多岐にわたっている。ミクロ社会学 （社会心理学）は、会話における“turn-taking”のようなものを含めて、社会の相互作用の複雑さについて探求する。一方、マクロ社会学では、世界システムと長い歴史の関わりについて研究することもある。
